Plushie Profile: Pajama Bear Buxton

Today I released my first new plushie design since the launch of Fairweather Friends! I actually designed these completely on my computer in Illustrator, which I didn't think I could do but it worked out well. One of the things I've been meaning to do is establish a more stylized line of plushies, but I've been putting it off because I'm not really great at drawing. I started with a basic shape in the program and then manipulated its features to make it look like a bunch of different animals. I'm hoping to eventually release all of the variations, but here's the first one!

I think my plushies look so sad when they haven't been stuffed yet, heh. This is (an unfinished) Buxton Bear, wearing his plaid flannel pajamas. He's the most complex pattern I've designed so far, mostly because the eyes are so complex and I have to put together the arms and face before I sew him together. But once he's all assembled and stuffed, this guy is really adorable. I'm really proud of how he came out.

In addition to having a variety of different animals in this basic shape, I also designed a few different facial expressions for each one. You might start seeing sleepy or sad versions of Buxton in my shop soon! I'm also working on female counterparts for each of the animals, but I need to pick out more fabrics for the lady plushies' pajamas. Speaking of which, it's likely that the pajama fabrics will rotate if I can't find the same ones after I run out, so they'll be sort of limited edition.

There are a couple of these guys in my shop right now if you like him! He takes longer to make than my other plushies, so I don't know if I'll have as many of him available. Snag one for yourself right here!
